Kataklysm, DevilDriver, Unearth, and Dimmu Borgir on May 8th! I'm pretty excited...
Anybody know what DevilDriver and Unearth are like live? That's the reason I'm going!

So, last night I went to see Kataklysm, DevilDriver, Unearth, and Dimmu Borgir. I was actually really pumped up about this show, cause I had never seen Unearth before and really wanted to. But anyway, Kataklysm took the stage first...I'll admit, they're not the greatest band but, they opened the show very well. Next, DevilDriver took the stage...They played very well. I've always been a fan of them and they did not let me down. They played a lot of very good songs old and new. They finished their set with their famous circle pit to "Meet The Wrecthed." Then, the show hit a major speed bump...Unearth's tech crew took a long time setting up their shit which is good thing, you don't want a lazy sounding set. They finally took the stage...Ken (Guitarist) got the crowd good a fuckin' pumped up before the band slammed into "Giles." The song was sounding fuckin' amazing until about 45 seconds into the song, when Mike (Drummer) started having troubles. His timing was severely off and he made mistakes very frequently. Buz and Ken both stood their during the song and watched their drummer torture an extremely good tune. Unearth's drummer was fucking loaded... They finished their first two songs then, immediately went into a huddle on stage. They broke away and Trevor informed us that only 2 songs remained. The crowd was outraged, but we knew that they couldn't keep playing the set while Mike fucked things up. During the last songs, Ken became so frustrated with Mike's playing that he took off his guitar and walked off stage for at least a minute. However, he returned and finished the set. Ken attempted to make the show better by throwing out every single pick that he had, tossing out water bottles, and even throwing out his un-used sweat towel. The set came to and end and Trevor left us with these words, "Edmonton, we are Unearth and we will make up for this bullshit somehow!" All the members of Unearth except Mike cleared off the stage in deep frustration. Mike sat at his kit with his head burried in his hands, staring at his snare realizing what he had done. The crowd chanted "UNEARTH" as Mike stumbled off stage and later booed when they did not return...So, basically my Unearth experience was pretty much ruined. It sucks, but what can I do about it. I left the show without staying for Dimmu...4 songs out of, what I'm guessing, was suppose to be a good 10 song set. However, considering the circumstances, the rest of the band played really well and I still enjoyed it somewhat...
